This is an overview of Feature Buildings. Some unlock with Quests while others unlock at various player levels.

Administrative Building

The Administrative Building allows players to hire staff to take care of your zoo and its animals. Although players can have an Administration Building at each zoo, hired employees cannot travel or switch between regions. See Employees for more info on hiring.

Each region has its own Administrative Building, which comes with 5 free slots to hire employees or teams of employees. Players can unlock additional employee slots in each region for 5 diamonds each before reaching the maximum of 60 employee slots in the building.

Tip: There is an achievement for the number of employees hired simultaneously, beginning with hiring as few as 5 employees up to as many as 500 employees at the same time. This is a large diamond cost, but with future regions being added so often, it may be more within reach to a wider set of players.

Breeding Center

The Breeding Center feature building is mandatory for game progression. The Main Zoo breeding center quest unlocks at Level 12.

Every region has its own breeding center which comes with two breeding slots unlocked after purchasing the building. Additional breeding slots can be unlocked with diamonds. Once a breeding completes, its breeding slot is "cleaned" (unavailable) for 8 hours. See Breeding for more information about breeding animals.

Clubhouse

The Clubhouse was added in May 2019. There is a Quest series for placing and using this building. It costs 20,000 coins and takes 12 hours to build. It is only available in the Main Zoo. See Guilds for more info on how a club works and Club Contest for more info on how contests work.

Players can look for existing clubs to join or spend 10 diamonds to create their own guild. A Level 1 guild can have up to 5 members. Leveling up a guild unlocks the ability to purchase more member spots. New members of a guild can begin donating seven days after entering.

Members of a Club/Guild can do the following:

Visit the other members' main zoos (no heart points)
Use club member chat function
Participate in various Club contests
Receive benefits from club fundraiser bonuses

Transport Station

The Transport Station allows the player to travel between Regions. The overview map shows which regions become available for purchase at differing levels of the game. Some regions allow items and animals to be transported between regions while other regions have exclusive items that cannot be transported.

History: The transport station was initially added on February 24, 2021 for a cost of 50 diamonds. At the introduction of Kujali Park on March 22, 2022, the cost changed to 30,000 coins, but you must buy/unlock each region from the map.

Terrarium House

Introduced on October 12, 2021, the Terrarium House costs 75 diamonds to build. It allows you to travel between Regions and unlocks access to the Terrarium House once the building is placed.

The Terrarium House is unlocked after two quests, which begin at level 28. See the "Dormouse in Distress" quest, which asks you to place 3 Blackberry Bushes and 3 Hazel Bushes. The second quest unlocks at level 30, asking you to place the Terrarium House and drive there.

Aquarium House

Introduced on February 21, 2023, the Aquarium House costs 75 diamonds to build. It allows you to travel between Regions and unlocks access to the Aquarium once the building is placed.

The quest to unlock the Aquarium is given at level 50, asking you to place the Aquarium House.

Visitor Center

Added in July 2019, the Visitor Center is a feature building that costs 30 diamonds to build. Each region has its own visitor center that gives access to collections, maps, region statistics, and animals available in the game. See Visitor Center for more information.

Guest Lounge

Added in October 2022, the Guest Lounge is a feature building for Main Zoo compatible regions that allows you to manage Special Guests (NPCs). Each region has its own guest lounge building for coin purchase when the region allows NPCs to walk the paths.

In the Guest Lounge you can see an overview of all your NPCs and are able to name them, designate to one of the zoos, collect gifts, and manage which ones are visible (it will only be possible to have a maximum of 100 visible guests in the zoo, as more would likely cause performance issues).

Prize Wheel

The Prize Wheel is a gifted building. Visit its page for all the details, including how to reset it for more prizes.

Admissions Booth

The entrance at each zoo region collects the admission fee for each visitor. Every upgrade changes the look of the building and has a maximum of 10 upgrades for each admissions booth.

Shops

A player can collect coins from shops when visitors purchase from them. The more visitors in a region, the faster the shops fill. Each shop can be upgraded three times to reach its maximum capacity. Players have found that shops fill faster when the game is closed. Shops must be placed on a connected path in order to fill. See Shops for more info.

Toilets and Trash Cans

Main zoo, Fir Grove and Kujali Park

Two items included in the building menu for purchase are toilets and trash cans. These act more as decorations in function, but are accessed through the Building menu.

Toilets

Toilets, which look like outhouses, allow your visitors to... be more comfortable at your zoo. Toilets don't require maintenance and are not required to be placed along a path. They provide "visitor popularity points," which increase the number of visitors at your zoo.

Trash Cans

Visitor generate trash as they are visiting your zoo. They will try to find a trash can to put the trash in, but if they can't, or if all trash cans in an area are full they will drop the trash on path ways. Trash on path ways reduces visitor points and makes your visitor more likely to leave and not spend money in shops. Because of this Trash should be picked up and cans emptied when full. (You can hire a zoo employee, the worker, to pick up trash when you're not actively playing the game.)

Initially only plain (brown) trash cans are available with red, blue, panda and bird being unlocked later in the game. Each subsequent color/theme can hold more trash before it's full.
