Animals are, of course, the reason for a zoo. Players start with a few animals and more become available as the

player progresses through the game. Animals can be purchased with coins or gems, but are also often given as prizes for completing quests or leveling up. Animals can also be obtained by collection puzzle pieces.

Before placing a new animal, players need to build an enclosure of the appropriate type. Each animal requires a different amount of space and only a certain amount of each animal are allowed in one enclosure (click on each animal below to bring up their specific page will specific info for that animal). Adding feeding troughs, water holes, and play equipment to the enclosure will help players gain more experience and better care for their animals.

Adding a a shelter (and purchasing a breeding center) will allow players to breed baby animals.

Some animals are only available through special events or by spending real money. Some animals are available in special coats or come as rewards in the Daily Reward Calendar or for Completing quests. See the bottom of this page for more information:

A50-1.png These animals are a reward from the Zoo Academy. When extending your Zoo Academy subscription you get stamps, for each 10 stamps you get an animal as reward.
C50.png These animals have been given as rewards on the Monthly Reward Calendar. Click here for a list of which animals were given during which months.
E50.png These animals were only available during a special event.
L50.png These animals are given as rewards for leveling up your zoo. Click here to see the full list of level rewards.
LC-0.png Legendary chests animals are available by opening legendary chests, which were VIP animals in the past. At various period of time there is a bonus chance of getting a puzzle piece for one of these animals.
P50.png Premium animals are available for players who purchase certain packages of diamonds with real money. Note that premium animal packages can be traded for previous premium animal packages. Click here for details.
Q50.png These animals are given as a reward for completing various quests. Click here to see a list of all quests. Note that at times the reward is the full animal, but some times the reward is just a puzzle piece for the animal.
R50.png Rare chests animals are only available by opening rare chests. At various period of time there is a bonus chance of getting a puzzle piece for one of these animals. The bonus doesn't not mean there will always be one a puzzle piece for this animal, just an increased possibility.
RC-0.png Retro chests animals are available by opening retro chests, which were premium or event animals in the past. At various period of time there is a bonus chance of getting a puzzle piece for one of these animals.
S50.png These animals have a special coat color. Coat varieties have been offer as rewards for completing specific quests or purchasing the special coat animal during some events. Breeding an animal with one parent having the special coat gives a small chance that the offspring will have the special coat. Breeding an animal with both parents having the special coat give 100% chance that the offspring will have the special coat.
V50.png VIP animals are only available by purchasing the largest diamond packages in the game (unless they the animals also has another marker by it such as the Tiger). Note that players will only get ONE of the VIP animals per package. In order to get a breeding pair, two of the largest diamond packages need to be purchased. Like premium animals, VIP animals can be traded for previously offered VIP animals. The same procedure (found here) is used.
